Samsung Series 7 Slate review
So this image I did for Anime Conji took almost double the time it would have normally taken me for an image like that, due to making about 90% of it while experimenting on my new tablet PC: a Samsung Series 7 Slate.
For people who might be interested in a machine such as this one for artistic work, I’m giving a very lengthy thorough review with my pros/cons under the cut!

Artist Alley Resources Post!
Follow up on TMI-Tuesday! Most of the questions were about artist alley so I am compiling everything into one post. Disclaimer: I’m not affiliated with any of the companies below.
Short-run print resources:
It really depends on the quality of paper and color and ink that you like. I personally use a local printer (warning: really bad webdesign) that my previous boss (ilu...

Going be streaming all day since I’ll be taking a break from pixels and working on non-NDA illustrations! Finally!! If you’re bored and/or lonely, come by and say hello!

(P.S. I won’t be recording the stream today since I don’t want the final images for these illustrations to be circulating before they are published. Sorry!)

my dad is awesome
Subject: FWD: 真正的孔雀舞.po
Dad: They are beautiful. I think the white female won throughout the encounter. [attached set of photos featuring two peacocks]
Me: Thanks for the pick me up, I have a very stressful week of deadlines and it's nice to see some gorgeous photos.
Though it looks like a courtship dance, I'm pretty sure this is two males fighting -- one normal colored and one albino. You can see the distinctive crown on the albino's forehead, plus its beautiful long feathers. The female has short feathers on its butt and is usually rounder and fatter.
Dad: You made me feel better too. I was wondering how come it's always girls win.

P.S. More on color printing
It’s really common for people to not know about using minimal amounts of K for print. I once got my posters printed at a local print shop and the person who did all of my prints LIGHTENED ALL OF MY FILES (without asking or confirming with me) by like 5% and then printed a ton of copies of like 15+ files with this adjustment. I was furious. I made them reprint the better half of everything...

cryptovolans:
up until now, people have kept telling me that pictures will print better if you change them to CMYK format. So I finally tried it. And it made my picture look completely godawful. From what I understand, CMYK reduces the amount of colors. So wait, why do people keep saying that this is…
To echo: work from the beginning in CMYK. Some colors (specifically really bright neon...
